Hoolibaby Neeno - "Nike Box"
Rising Louisiana rapper Hoolibaby Neeno continues to
carve out his place in Southern hip-hop with the release of his new single, “Nike Box,” out
today. Inspired by the deeper meaning behind a familiar symbol of street culture, the record
explores the connection between sneaker culture, money, status, and the everyday hustle that
has shaped generations of young people.
For many growing up in the hood, Nikes represented more than sneakers; they symbolized
respect, pride, and the feeling of making it with limited resources. The Nike box itself became
part of that culture, often repurposed to hold hard-earned cash. Through “Nike Box,” Neeno
draws on this shared experience to tell a story rooted in resourcefulness, street
entrepreneurship, and the realities of growing up with little.
Reflecting on the record’s inspiration, Neeno explains, “For an urban kid coming up in the hood,
Nikes were more than just sneakers; they represented status, respect, pride, and the feeling of
making it when you had very little. The Nike box itself became just as valuable as the shoes
inside, serving as a symbol of the culture and the hustle that shaped an entire generation.”
Hailing from Plain Dealing, Louisiana, Neeno represents a new generation of Southern artists
influenced by the region’s rich hip-hop legacy. Drawing inspiration from the Hot Boys, Trill
Entertainment, Webbie, Boosie, Lil Phat, and Kevin Gates, he blends raw street storytelling with
melodic hooks and an unmistakable Southern perspective. Neeno continues to build his catalog through records such as “Sweet Lady,” “24,” “Clap Clap,” and “Bend Ya Back,” alongside projects including Squeeki Son and Paid In Full. His growing momentum is reflected in his streaming presence, along
